It is with great sadness that the family of Stuart “Stu” Wilson have announced his passing. Stuart died peacefully at Sunderland Royal Hospital on 2 February 2026, aged 52. A lifelong resident of Silksworth, Stuart was a devoted son to Elizabeth and the late Harry, a loving partner to Helen and a proud father to Jack, Georgia and Matthew. He was also a caring stepfather to Jayden and a much-loved brother to Christopher and Michael. Beyond his immediate family, he was a cherished grandad, uncle, nephew, brother-in-law and loyal friend to many.
Stuart was a respected and active member of the Royal British Legion, where he found camaraderie and community. Friends there remember him for his warmth, humour and willingness to lend a hand whenever it was needed. His presence at The Legion in Silksworth was a constant, and he will be deeply missed by fellow members.
Those closest to Stuart describe him as devoted to his family above all else. He took immense pride in his children and treasured the time spent with loved ones. His steady nature, kind heart and quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Family and friends are invited to attend a service at Sunderland Crematorium on Thursday 5 March 2026 at 3:30pm.
